I do feel for the folks who live there, deeply, as their lives are so terribly
interrupted right now. My guess is the best we can do for them, outside of making a donation to the red cross and such, is to visit the city when they are
back on their feet, since tourism is such a big part of their economy.

Good idea! Very good idea, especially for those of us who have always planned to go there, but never seemed to actually get there in the past.
My husband and I honeymooned in New Orleans. I think there are some pictures of
her from that trip (in 1989) on my web page.
New Orleans is a very popular honeymoon destination. When my daughter got married in June 2000, they spent the first week of their honeymoon in New Orleans and then took a 7 day cruise on the Celebration.
Kevin and I finally got to visit New Orleans last november, just before sailing on the Sleazy3 cruise on the Conquest. I have lots of pictues on my webshots site, but can't look at them right now. I am glad that I had the chance to see NO before this horrible hurricane and look forward to going back again some time after it is rebuilt.
