Isn't it interesting that, as you say, the UK still considers how a person dresses for determining social position, but unlike the US, their legal advisers, (solicitors, barristers, etc.,) will share offices with others, while in the US a lawyer who shares an office will be looked down upon. For social position they must have a VERY important looking private office. Strange.... Culture at work!
