For cost, you probably won't beat the budget airline AirAsia
http://www.airasia.com/ but for reliability you may be better off with
a full-fare airline.
The low-cost airlines have much shorter aircraft turnaround times, so
there's less time available to make up for any delays. That's likely
to affect flights scheduled for later in the day more so than early
ones. Having said that, only one out of about a dozen flights I've
taken on the various budget airlines in Asia have been late arriving.
