I travel with a 16 inch wide, by 16 inch deep, by 24 inch bod made of 3/4
inch plywood. box has handles, hinges,and hasp and lock on it. I also put
steel corners and banded the perimeter of the box.

I've used this container for several years and no problem, other than I
repainted it.

I'll bet you don't take many flights where there's a 20Kg weight limit on
hold baggage.
