US Border guards are trained with a mindset that everyone crossing into
the USA has intentions to permanently stay in the USA and seek jobs
there. So until they are reasonably sure that the person has absolutely
no intentions of staying in the USA, they will be rather rude to them.

I think you might be right there! :-)

Some of us though, even though we like to visit, wouldnt live in the US
for all the tea in China !!!!
