I took a beginning volleyball class once, and some of the tests that I
remember were:
stand in the circle at the top of the basketball key and bump to
yourself 10 times without stepping out of the circle;
stand in the circle at the top of the basketball key and set to
yourself 10 times without stepping out of the circle;
etc.
Anyone have any others? Especially ones that don't require a net?
I'm trying to help some friends develop some objectivity about their
skill levels.
Pair 2 of em. STand them oh... 10 or 15 feet apart. If they can't
forearm pass teh ball back and forth to each other 50 counts...
Repeat above, now make them take a side step out to the side and
come back to center after each rep.
Stand someone at a target ("think near the net/setter"). Hand up
near forehead height.
Underhand toss a ball to the PUT (player under test) from oh... 20-40
feet away. If their pass makes the setter take more than [1? 2?]
step, we have a problem. Out of X tosses, no more than Y failures.
I'm sure there are others.
