Shouldn't B and C extend all the way up? I would expect a libero setting
from the other side of the center line to still restrict a hitter to
contacting the ball below the top of the net.

Holger's question also covered aspects of the definition of the front
zone and its extension and his diagram was created mostly for that.

But your understanding of the attack restrictions on a ball handset by
the libero is correct. If pursuit were allowed on this court of
course.
