I'm a recently joined member of the 29er XC club. Much more enjoyable,
you're up higher, you go faster. The only thing that spoils it for me
at the moment is I'm very out of practice in freemounting the thing,
plus some small but significant technical bits that a fat-tyred 24" is
superior on.
In fact today I returned to the 24" muni since I correctly guessed
there would be dreadful mud-churn on the normally speedy bits. It
seemed to be more like a tractor now; easier to get over roots but
heavy, slow and cumbersome on the speedy bits.
Those who ride both 24" and 29ers, answer me this: why do I find it a
heck of a lot easier to ride long gentle uphills on my 29er?
