I can't edit my post but just to add on. I mount and hop in the same
manner as you too and when I started learning, I could barely hop SIF.
I still can't hop SIF confidently up obstacles even now (and my regular
hop sucks). Unispins don't really require much in the way of skills.
Just LOTS AND LOTS OF SHEER GUTS.
