Rafa's the better player in that match up, slightly, with Roger the
greater tennis champion... BUT now against the emerging Nole Era he's
carrying on... effectively calling into question Nole's game/winst...
it's time for the media to call him on it... 7 years is enough!
"It's the last place you can hide after a loss. True it is happening
just a little
too often. Maybe most noticeable now because he's having difficulties
winning
these days.
Some things are beginning to fly in the face of his well cultivated
sportsmanlike image.
The delay tactics are more than occasionally looking like gamesmanship
rather than
a method to gain focus and concentration...especially before a match
begins.
The deliberate downplaying of his chances of winning can't be anything
but false modesty and
an attempt to defuse expectations.
The illnesses and injuries after losses or less than stellar
performances are cropping up more
frequently.
The whole image is beginning to look a little tarnished IMO. Like a
guy who is trying hard to be
humble...and it's getting transparently disingenuous."
The losses and the pressure of holding onto #1 seem to be getting to Rafa. He seems more verbose in his recent interviews, trying to lower expectations and rationalise the emergence of Djoker.
