In 2010, who shall heed the General's advice? Who shall not?
Less god and more tennis would be welcome. I am tired of false as well
as public piety. When I hear someone thank god for their loss, I might
change my mind.

The religious invocation, I'll readily grant you, is less applicable
to tennis players than to the Filipinos who had endured brutal
occupation, hid in the mountains, conducted guerilla operations, who
waited for the time when a real counterattack to liberate their land
could begin, and whom MacArthur sought to inspire and encourage with
his radio address.

However, distill the secular content:

"...rally to me...Strike! Let no heart be faint. Let every arm be
steeled..."

We find some advice here that young Del Potro has implemented more
effectively than young Murray. When Murray does this -- and I have
posted in other threads I like the kid, I like his court craft -- I
will sing his praises accordingly. In a secular, tennis-oriented way,
of course. ;-P

I did read the content through the funhouse mirror of the religious call to arms.

Murray is waiting for the enemy to blow himself up while del Potro is taking the battle to the enemy?
