The reality is that assuming the worst happens for Fed (rafa beats Fed
like a drum in every slam), such a so called 'real' people thinking
may last max. 2-5 years, after that either rafa starts to decline (not
a dominant force anymore) then no media will care/hype his PAST h2h
against Fed or rafa keeps dominant so on the way to a possible Goat
talk again h2h is of no importance. So a 20 years attempt by bob is
laugable. In fact, I don't think such a 2-5 years will ever happen
even Fed is beaten like a drum because 'real' people are not that fool
even with no tennis knowledge. I just check the biggest chinese tennis
forum: some of rafa's young supporters still attack Fed like always
but no any past Pete's fans raise a doubt to Fed's status, all they
said are (1) it doesn't matter what happens in future, he is the goat
until someone overtakes him in overall performance; (2) don't believe
that Pete who has concede publicly in the first place said that so to
curse the article translator/writter who wants to draw attention. So
if less knowledgable chinese tennis fans know that, would you believe
'real' people in tennis popular countries will be that fool,

As to why bob keeps doing that? see my other replies recently. Note
that his recently posts are almost in an insane level and you can't
find a no logic hole or not self contradiction/deny self's previous
posts every 2-3 posts.
Essentially it is because deeply in heart, he knows that this time,
Pete's chance in Goat talk is PERMANENTLY gone but he can't FACE the
reality.
The guy has missed the best chance that is Fed's crowning achievement
last couple of months to step down that non existing Pete-Goat (that
he has defended to max. degree by ever changing rules and nothing
should be regret) thereafter he may truely relax to enjoy watching and
posting tennis. He is doomed maybe, the whole life will be stucked to
this mental issue: avoid the fact and fight the impossible. When
whisper treat him like an ally, I am sure that if whisper is any
degree softer in trying hard to put Pete back in goat talk, bob will
treat him like a clown like he has called every top player except rafa
who may be called a clown in future depending on his h2h vs Fed.
I am a bit harsh in words but like a chinese saying: Good medicine to
cure desease is bitter to mouth and good advice is difficult to ear.

some of your premises are so far off the mark, i could go on all day, but
i'll keep it short:

- i don't care if pete sampras is ever considered GOAT, i cheered against
him most of his career and don't particularly like the guy. i respect him,
don't like him.
- i don't care if anyone else in RST agrees with my view, i've already seen
it on TV this morning and a couple times in the past couple weeks and that's
even with rafa/fed where they are NOW - not based on my hypothetical that
nadal needs to keep this up for 2 yrs more to prove it.
- i don't contradict myself, i have a very few principles and the posts
repeat those principles.

btw, i don't give a hoot what 2 billion chinese think about tennis.

I haven't seen a RST poster (including game man attitude whisper
though he is also a Pete's fan) exuding pain as I read some of your
posts ever since Fed was a threat to Pete, especially after last USO
and now. It doesn't need a genius to figure this out.

if i have any "pain" over fed's achievements, it's because i don't like federer's "serena like" remarks.
it has nothing to do with sampras you dumbo and it has nothing to do with federer's tennis. i think he exudes "fake class", and i personally don't like that. maybe he'll change once he wins his 7th Wimbledon?
