marks aren't perfect. they can be fuzzy, indistinct, and there are lots of marks out there so whose to say which mark is which? i'd prefer hawkeye.

As somebody that works in technology... I'll take the real mark over hawkeye
every single time. Just like you'll get my plain paper & lead pencil vote out
of my cold, dead fingers.

I take the tech. It may be biased (inaccurate) but at least its bias is systematic and consistent. when an ump climbs down to check a mark, all kinds of subjective crap - like the player pointing at a mark (that may not be the real mark), or the fans clamoring for a ruling, etc. - can sway what happens.
