He should be sanctioned.
For late withdrawal, he should recieve the same punishment Murray
got for his late withdrawal from Indianapolis for no reason.
Counting "0" for this tournament under his "optionals".
I guess that's what will happen - it certainly should if that's
what the rules are.
Other part of the punishment should be for engaging in political
agenda. I am not sure how to punish him for that, but it should
be severly punished.
Why? Rod*** should be punished for pulling out of the tournament
without a valid reason and that's it. You can't suddenly come up
with other punishments because of the reasons why he withdrew.
Really?
Why was then Serbian swimmer punished for wearing a T-shirt with
"Kosovo is Serbia" on it?
No place for politics in the sport, isn't that the rule?
Which rule are you talking about? Please post a link to the
appropriate rule in the ATP rules which states this.
LEN, European swimming governing body sanctioned Cavic. I only
assumed ATP, being also world-class assosiation would have a similar
rule that forbids similar stuff.
If it doesn't, fine.
Rod***'s motives are certainly political in this one.
Er, obviously.
Well no doubt about that then, it's just a matter whether ATP has
rules for things like this.
I doubt that Rod*** would be sanctioned. The WTA has just fined Dubai
$300,000 for the Peer incident and is reviewing their relationship
with them. The ATP might have had to do the same thing if Ram had been
denied a visa. It would be a bad decision for the ATP to punish
Rod*** further when the ATP would be under pressure itself to take
action against Dubai.
I wasn't much into Peer discussion, don't know all the details. I believe,
technically it was UAE officials who denied Peer a visa, the Dubai
tournament had nothing to do with it?
So I don't know under what rules can WTA punish the Dubai tournament, only
maybe review their relationship, and don't get me wrong they should
certainly do something.
But as I said, tehnically Dubai tournament had nothing to do with it, even
though they might have known/participated in that. I think that was their
explanation.
Anyway, WTA should be dealing with Dubai, that's fine. No further disscusion
needed on that one.
Back to the topic, Rod***'s actions are politically motivated and I just
have a feeling ATP would have fined Djokovic if he had done the same as
Cavic, just as LEN fined him.
And they're letting Rod*** to make political statements. Or is yet to be
seen.
