++ Pure comedy how he argues against the very player he says was the
most gifted of the open era... the same guy that calls Fed the most
gifted... :)))

That was 4 yrs ago - Mac has recanted that plenty of times. Simple truth
is Fed is not close to Mac's pure genius. Roger is far more robotic &
wooden at the net where true genius/reflex skills are required - he
simply
doesn't have it. You're comparing him in the context of last 5 yrs - yes
in that context he is amazing, but don't insult true tennis fans &
compare
him to the pure genius of McEnroe.
True tennis fans know that tennis player can excell at their sports by
playing
different style of tennis. Mac was absolute sucks at baseline which one of
the
main reason why he was not effective after 26. Aggressive players that
came
after mac's generation had more complete game than Mac ever had. Mac is
a genius but his game is also limited.
Mac traded blow for blow at the baseline with Lendl in the 84 FO final
and often got the better of him in the first two sets. Baseline
wasn't his strength, but it's an oversimplification to say he sucked
there.
Give us a reason why he was not able to trade blow for blow with Lendl after
84 then ?
How many time did Mac lost to Lendl after 84 before he could register a win.
As far as I know he lost something like 15 matches before he could win 1.
It
is simple to say he was declining but the truth is Lendl was about the same
age
as Mac, what made the difference was lendl actually started to return Mac's
server
better and he improved his backhand and serve and Lendl took the physical
training
in the game to another level. The aggressive players that came after Mac
were also
much better athletes than Mac was and they had better rounded game than Mac.
