After watching today`s match, I am picking Fed to win the French
Open...

It had to be said :))

Rafa has to be given big time credit for taking it to Fed and reeling
him back in from 5-1 and 5-3... but that match could have been a wall
papering... on the order of a 6-1, 6-4 hiding... it WASN`T, but, the
game is there for Fed... and Uncle Toni seemed to know it, if we can
read the tea leaves of his facial expressions during the match...

The shots are there in the Fed arsenal... he didn`t even serve that
well today and in his 3 big time FO matches with Nadal (semi, final,
final) has never managed to serve to his slam potential...

I think it`s about his time to find it and he looks relaxed in a way
going into the French that I haven`t seen in the last 3 years...

It could/should have been 6-1, 6-3 but you are missing the point. Nadal didn't play particularly well either today or in MC (lots of unforced errors), and he is going to play a lot better and make far less mistakes at RG, so Fed won't have the big leads he has been having here to squander. Straight sets for Nadal over Fed at the
French final, though the Djoker will have something to say about
that...

++ Well, Nadal played well but in spots and that is also a pattern
within the pattern of Fed falling off after hitting out and semi
dominating... both are true of their match up... If Fed has a top
serving day against Rafa he can win... if he can manage his down
periods 10 to 15 percent better he also would win... that - to me - is
the essence of their match up on clay now... when Fed goes away for a
while he REALLY goes away... and that's where his coach can come in to
help work out a plan to manage himself over those patches of Nadal's
counter hitting brillance... I don't konw about you but when a player
can run off the strings against another player the way Fed has been
doing against Nadal he certainly has the goods to win... it's about
controlling his lapses slightly better and the impact would be HUGE...
that's just my opinion and I think he's on the brink for a major
reversal... OR LETS SAY... maybe Fed has a date with good fortune
awaiting him this time around :)) Either would do the trick...
