In view of today's events I think the time has come to agree
International Standards for some tennis events.
The events are:
The Choke
The Collapse
The Towering Rage
The Towering Rage Combined With Racket Abuse
The Behaving Like A Jerk
The standards to be agreed will be given names to identify them (along
the lines of champagne bottle sizes - Magnum, Jeroboam, Methuselah,
etc).
Names already proposed:
The Gaudio, The Safin, The Coria, The Novotna, The McEnroe, The
Connors, The Tarango, The Martin
You are cordially invited to propose other names, the event to which
they are most appropriately applied, and suggest the relative
magnitudes.
Ladies and Gentlemen - I thank you.
:-)
imo Safin is ok -- most of his rage is directed towards himself and
his racquet abuse is really benign (unlike Kiefer) :)
