Incidentally, I agree with skriptis that slower clay presents Nadal
with the problem of not being able to hit shots as forcefully or
offensively.

Oh please...it presents BOTH the players with the problem. Which means
it's not a big factor at all. What matters is who is more likely to
adapt to a different clay condition and play his natural game on clay?
Nadal or his opponent?

Uhh..of course it presents both players with this problem, but Federer
has a naturally more aggressive game, hits the ball harder and has an
easier time hitting winners. A SLOW court would handicap him, sure,
but not as much as it would Nadal.

Let me get this straight: On the fastest surfaces -- grass and fast
hardcourt -- Federer has a clear advantage over Nadal. As the surface
gets slower -- say, Rebound Ace -- Fed's advantage diminishes, as
everyone in RST agrees, both Fed fans and Nadal fans. As the surface
gets slower still -- faster clay, a la Rome -- the advantage becomes
Nadal's. Slow down the surface even more -- "standard" red clay, as at
Monte Carlo and Roland Garros -- and Nadal's advantage becomes
decisive (4-0 vs. Fed). Now you're saying that if we move one step
further, to the supposedly super-slow clay of Hamburg, this trend
reverses itself, and Federer benefits? I guess it's not impossible,
but it certainly seems implausible, and the arguments made here aren't
convincing.

Exactly! It makes no sense. I can't believe Andrew has actually fallen
for this type of non-reasoning. This particular troll must be genius.
