wendyg does come across as being a good net-citizen.

In fact, what I try to do is behave in such a way as to encourage the
material I find interesting and discourage the material I find boring.
Also, I try not to do anything that would cause an editor reading my
postings to decide not to hire me. :)

Fights are boring to read, however much fun they may be for the
participants, so I avoid those. Postings that are rampantaly off-topic --
rock bands, political rants, stories about the Middle East -- I ignore on
the basis that it's the best way not to feed them. The endless, endless
Sampras threads, ditto. I have never killfiled anyone except obvious
spammers flooding the newsgroup, but I do operate a policy of minimizing
the number of comments I make directly to people whose behavior and/or
opinons I find offensive...
