I agree with you about Nadal's honest admission that Roger was

But Rod*** and Hewitt are routinely lambasted for saying the same
thing! They are criticized for 'losing the match before even stepping

the court' and for 'having too much respect for Fed'. I guess when
Nadal
says it, he is just being a good sport but when Rod*** and Hewitt do,
they are losers! Go figure ...
Nadal said it as a bit of a joke - you could tell from his mannerisms.
