a person can gain weight without eating meat.

the problem that former athletes have is that they get into the habit
of eating a lot because they need to support the high calorie burn
rates that they athletic pursuits require. when they quit playing its
easy to drop the habit of exercising for 6 hours a day but the eating
habits tend to remain. therefore, they end up eating about the same
number of calories but are burning fewer. the net result is weight
gain.

on any account, you do get the sense that clijsters is trawling for a
man...
