I don't know if we watched the same 2 sets :). First set, Fed was
painting the lines and Nadal was missing quite a few shots long.

Second set, Fed's game came down to earth and he started missing a few.
Nadal's game did not change much.

From that, I can deduce that if Fed can play at god-like level he can
beat Nadal easily but I don't think he can put together 3 god-like sets
at a slam. He's shown that he sometimes goes away for a set or so and
that most of his opponents are not good enough to make him pay for
that.

Now, I want to make two more points about the first 2 sets. First, Fed
goes for the lines against Nadal because he knows that's the only way
he can win a point. That puts a lot of pressure on every shot and
eventually they start to break down and his level drops. I don't think
any pro that has ever lived can win any match against another pro if
you constantly aim for the lines.
BTW, Nadal's shot have a nice margin of error by 1/2 foot or so.

Second point, we keep calling Nadal a bum rooter but Fed did a lot of
bum rooting in the 2nd set. Nadal kept yanking him for side to side.
Fed is good at retrieving like that but I don't think he appreciates
it. He probably wanted to end it after a few of those long side to side
excursions. I think Nadal is enjoying those and that's the difference.
