Yes, it _is_ clear cut. Here's a reminder of your words:

By no one's definition but your own could anything I have posted be
described as a "lie" or a "mistruth". She said what I said she said. She
_did_ say that the score pretty much told the story, and everything else she
said that's been reported is consistent with it, whereas if she also said
that it was tougher than the scoreline then she directly contradicted
herself. How does passing on to the ng what she actually said, and not out
of context or in any deceptive manner, pass for a "mistruth"? Do the decent
thing and withdraw your remarks.

Why are you arguing with Whisper on this trivial issue? What would that
accomplish? He is a troll. He got your attention by deliberately
baiting you. And if you stick around and establish yourself as his
victim who easily gets flustered by his nonsensical remarks, it's
completely your loss. He will do this to you over and over again. Since
this is an unmoderated ng, you won't be able to do anything. That's
exactly what a troll like Whisper wants and thrives for. Ideally, after
a while, nobody should care about his remarks. Nor should you. Trolls
cannot be reasoned. They have to be ignored.



I agree it's incredibly trivial, but he appears genuine so I owe him an explanation.

It's a simple case - a poor quality reporter misrepresented the gist of Hingis' comments, Dave posted these comments as a fact, & I debunked it as false as I heard the i/v live. Dave is indignant as he sees himself as the victim in this, but maybe he shoulda phrased his post a little differently & not as a fact?

End of the day my actions are cleared - the post was clearly erroneous & I owe it to rst to report the tennis truth. Unless anyone has anything intelligent to contribute I suggest we move on.... 'Whisper is a dickhead' is not an eg of intelligent contribution....
