Steven Shaw, in response to an article I wrote and passed on to him. The
suggestion actually came through him from his sister, who swims daily. (He
forwarded my article to her.) It evidently stresses the Alexander
Technique.
I am not familiar with either the book or the technique. Any of you have
any knowledge of it?

emphasizes alignment and letting go of habits of movement and posture
which hold one back physically or emotionally. I knew an opera student
who felt she doubled her voice after one session, and who had worked
with some other mind/body techniques like yoga and Feldenkreis with less
result.
