Do you really think you can even-split an 8k given your current
training regimen? You can't figure that wayl. After the first 4km you
will be tired. The second half will be slower.

I think what you'll find, Michaeaaeal, is that your math and your
swimming don't match.

Look, you get sore every time you try to work at what for most people
isn't even a warmup pace, or when you go a distance that isn't much
further than a warmup. That means you are out of shape, and you are
planning to swim an 8k in open water in seven months. And now you are
deluding youself into believing that right now you can hold your best
4k pace for 8k.
You may be right, but if you are right, it means you aren't working
hard at all when you swim 4k in 2.75 hours. You can easily swim 4k in
2.75 hours. If that's the case, why are you asking for all this
advice? If you can easily swim 4k in 2.75 hours, then if you put some
effort into it, you can swim 4k in 1.5 hours. Why don't you try that
this weekend? Maybe you can already achieve your goal.
All crawl, no stopping, no hanging on the walls.
