I read that Erik Vendt did 30 1000s and it was something like descend by sets of 10 on 10:30. I may not have that exactly right but it sounded incredibly hard.

I'm not sure that this would compare, but it's impressive to me even to this day - back in Mike Bruner's day I think he did 100 x 100m on 1:00.
