France 1 - 1 Costa Rica
at roughly the 75' mark.
I haven't watched all of it. I just know that both goals were before
the half, and that France's goal was an OG off a Costa Rica player!
France is controlling possession, and is unlikely not to be up 3 - 1
or so, based on what I've seen. The Costa Rican keeper made a very
impressive double-save on Squillaci. That being said, the French have
a bit to be worried about if they can't put these guys away in France.
Costa Rica has not been without opportunities, and France's defense
(Alou Diarra made a HORRIBLE back pass to a Costa Rican player) hasn't
shut the Tico attack down.
In the end, we won 2-1 (Valbuena scored the winner for his first cap)

There was lot of movements for once. It was one of our most enjoyable game
in a while and would have been an easier victory with a decent finishing.
As expected, the defense was horrible (especially on set pieces) and the
left side lived up to its promises and showed it could be one of the best in
the world if not the best in the world (Evra - Malouda - Ribery), which
makes our game very unbalanced. (opposing left backs won't suffer too much)

If Domenech keeps that tactic, the starting XI should look like this :

Ribery - Anelka (Henry) - Govou (Valbuena)
Malouda - Toulalan - Gourcuff
Evra - Abidal - Gallas - Sagna
Lloris

Points of worries : Gallas is slow and Abidal tends to make minor mistakes
that can be deadly when he plays CB. We have no one in the roster able to
play in Malouda's role and I am not convinced Diaby would be able to fill in
for Gourcuff yet.
Against teams who like to keeps possession of the ball (Spain), this
midfield line would probably be way too weak.

There are few chances that we get to play vs. Spain anyway. We ll have
our handful enough with Uruguay and Mexico. The game vs. Tunisia today
(1-1) unfortunately confirmed it. We f&^$&ing need a striker a la
Inzaghi, Milito, Villa... I personally like to see Diaby to play in
the starting 11. He can play along side Gourcuff IMHO. We need more
percussion and he can bring that. Passing the ball from one side to
the other during 5 minutes is annoying me to great extend. We need to
play deeper, our front line need to take the defense on one / one more
often ,looking for free kicks , we need them to confront, not to turn
around . It s so frustrating to watch, such a waste of skills. Only
Ribery has this mental, this will to attack. But he has to do too much
by himself.

Well, you don't have a striker a la Inzaghi, Milito, Villa, so better stick with what you have. Domenech is a cretin, IMHO. I would play Anelka and Henry /together/ up front, with constant movement and change of position, and Gignac with Ribery supporting them from behind.
Very strange experience watching the game - I was using the myp2p.eu site to watch it, and changed channels several times until I found a good performance. The strange thing was that one of the channels (a Tunisian one? - no idea) was showing a picture from the other side of the field, and even more strange - the order of the teams on the score display was reversed! While TF1 was showing Tunisia - France, that channel was showing France - Tunisia (but it didn't write out the names, was showing just flags and the score). Do Arabic channels display the teams from right to left? It was totally surreal, because the change in order was accompanied by change of vantage point; as if one must synchronize the orientation of the teams on the screen with the score display!
