I see that you didn't take my suggestion of searching for his
original statements but instead chose to tell us what an english
journalist of the Murdock propaganda empire selectively chose to
translate out of a full interview.
It really does not matter whether it was a Murdoch journalist or
not. Nor does the fact that Platini has done some more measured
interviews matter either.
You didn't give any evidence that the interview in question wasn't
"measured". You cited a journo, working for a fierce proponent of
the anglo empire, who translated a few words out of a full press
conference.
Then it's up to you to give us the full context. Or Platini, for that
matter. Did he ever say this was taken out of context ? I seriously
doubt it, since to me it looks more or less self-contained. But if he
did, by all means, show us all what he really meant.
I don't have to show anything more than I have already shown. You claim that
he exactly said that so and so cheated without any qualifier or context that
may change the meaning, it is therefore your job to find his original
statement to prove that it is the case. To be sure, nothing other than the
original unadulterated statement will do considering the long history in the
anglo press of distorting Platini's meaning through clever editing out of
context and poor translation.
The _president of UEFA_, without any prior
provocation, called 2 top English clubs cheats!
you don't know what he said. He may have said the equivalent of
financial doping.
Again, has he ever denied saying it ?
silly logic since his not denying saying it wouldn't be proof of anything.
Platini always takes the time to point out that he has problems with *all*
clubs with excessive debt which hasn't prevented the anglo media from saying
he was anti-english.
It's pretty obvious that's
exactly what he said and meant, at that moment.
if he said that excessive debt was unfair then took the example the ECL
finalists to make his point, his meaning isn't that he is anti-Chelsea/MU. I
hope you can tell the difference.
He may have changed or
nuanced his position afterwards but that's another story
the article i cited was prior to the said press conference.
Anyway, all this matters little, basically that was and still is what
he says, that the top 3 english clubs are cheats. I don't think you'll
deny this.
I don't know what he said in that press conference until I see a transcript.
