There has been a resurgence of racism and the hard-right almost
everywhere but we are talking about what's going on in Italy where
xenophobia and racism have become a serious concern. From Burlesconi
making racial remarks to the xenophobic Liga Norte being part of the
governmental coalition, the crackdown and violence toward
immigrants, etc .. there is plenty to talk about.
There is a very good reason for the resurgence of the far right.
Yes, constant fear-mongering about immigration and security in the corporate
media is reason number 1.
It is because everyone else has proven to be incapable, and
worse, indicted, in the single most important job that any
political organisation exists for ... to serve their country.
Mind you, not serve Europe, or the world. Their country.- Hide quoted text -

I dont see it as fear-mongering, and I dont see it as constant
in the corporate or any other media. If anything, it is not
given the attention it deserves.
Mass movements of outsiders into a country or region over
a period of time is invariably detrimental to the existing
population. This is a historical fact. Kosovo being a
recent example.
A day may come when the human race is evolved enough to
coexist in harmony without borders, language and culture.
That day is not here yet, and I wouldnt hold my breath.
