Out of curiosity, how many games a year were top Brazilian players
playing in the late 70s and early 80s ? What with state championships,
cups, Campeonato Brasiliense, Libertadores etc. I am betting it adds up.
At some point, some clubs have played 80+ games in a season.
Even now, I get the impression that the the Brazilian teams play a huge
number of games with all these competitions.
2006 season:
SL NL NC Lib Sud CWC Total
Internacional 18 38 0 14 0 2 72
São Paulo 19 38 0 14 0 0 71
Corinthians 19 38 0 8 4 0 69
Palmeiras 19 38 0 10 0 0 67
Atlético-PR 16 38 3 0 8 0 65
Vasco da Gama 11 38 12 0 2 0 63
Flamengo 11 38 12 0 0 0 61
Tchau!
