General objection to the upstart Americans interfearing with their game I'd
expect. Plus the travel issues. Just because its hypocritical has never
stoipped UEFA/FIFA before...

CONMEBOL becomes a cakewalk

If it became a cakewalk (not a certainty), then somebody would switch
back -- I'm not suggesting the swap would be a permanent decision.

Its a cakewalk because you give CONMEBAL 4.5 spaces for a federation that
may only have 6-7 members. It probably wouldn't be any easier than CONCACAF
for the teams that switched to switch back (The teams that stayed are likely
to beat the teams that switch), but you turn CONMEBOL into a 10 round system
where only the bottom team gets eliminated.
