Spain's Anti-Violence Commission has said it will write to Barcelona
striker Samuel Eto'o to express its displeasure at taunts he directed
at Real Madrid.

Eto'o insulted Madrid on Sunday, a day after Barcelona won the national
title for the first time since 1999, when telling 98,000 fans at Camp
Nou stadium that his former club should honor the champion.

The 24-year-old chanted 'Madrid, cabron, Saluda al campeon' (Spanish
for 'Madrid, bastards, hail the champions') into the microphone before
100,000 Barcelona fans in their Camp Nou stadium.

The state-run commission also backed the decision by the Spanish
Football Federation (RFEF) to open an inquiry into Eto'o's conduct.

Camerooon's reigning African Footballer of the Year, who has since
apologised to Real, said he had been caught up in a 'moment of sheer
joy' and that there was 'no ill intention'.

Yet Spanish daily El Pais has quoted RFEF chairman Alfredo Florez as
saying that it will carefully examine the case.

If the federation charges the 24-year-old Cameroon striker, he could be
fined.

Real Madrid, whom Eto'o joined as a teenager, said it accepted an
apology issued by the Cameroonian on Monday.
