If this is true, could you please tell me what the difference between
roller hockey skates and ice hockey skates is? I have tried ice hockey
skates that were well broken in, and I was dismayed at the lack of
ankle movement.

Most of my inline boots were cut below or right at the ankle, so I was
getting *no ankle support. Maybe we are considering different styles
of speed boot here.

I will agree with that without argument.
Maybe the mistake I am making is to consider ankle support as the
inverse of ankle maneuverability. I think that is fair, but if you
have reason to believe the two are not the same, I would love to hear
the difference.
