The fact is, as has been stated earlier in this thread, the abec number only
refers to certain precision specifications and not any sort of quality
status. It is designed for high speed equipment, not skates.
In the early years of inline skates (more than 10 years ago), it did have
significant meaning because there were a lot of really poor quality bearings
that not only did not meet the lowest ABEC standard and were really sloppy
so that the wheels could wobble.
Now to salvage your incorrect statement you change it and claim it was
right. Guess what, there is no way to know that "all else being equal"
between bearings. The closest to it would be ones from the same maker,
assuming that they have close control of the manufacturing and are not just
farming them out to the lowest bidder.

It doesn't matter if the precision difference matters, you statement that it
"implies quality" is nonsense. The makers would like you to believe that
but it isn't so, just like most of the items in bold print on the box or
ads.
