Progress?

Today in lesson we worked on my AB freestyle program -- the one I'll
use for that test. The main hitching points are the back and sit
spins. Still. After all this time.

Ever, these days anyway, the eternal adult skater optimist, I guess it
was "progress" when my coach said "Well, that sit spin in that run
through.....I don't know.... I think that just might be considered a
'recognizable sit spin' by the judges. It needs to be lower, but it
was fast and centered." My sick mind immediately converted this to
"progress". Funny how we find "progress" where we can, isn't it?

On another day I might have felt really bad over my coach's comment.
However, today I was happy I went around seven or eight times and was
centered, and just a teensy bit lower. I know I am still in your basic
squate spin. But I'll just keep chipping away at this spin, WITH my
rose-colored glasses on most of the time. That has helped more than
anything!
