As a NZer I am truly grateful and will be watching all the

I'm sure you will watch the remaining matches with interest, the
focus
of the rugby world is on the World Champions hosting the Lions and
you
feel left out. And added to the fact your trophy cabinet is about
as
full as mg's nuts after going on one of Matua's "fishing trips",
I'm
not surprised you're after a few pointers.

Richard Bridgman
Not even close Mr B.
Appreciate that Lew was trolling a bit but I'm a pretty typical NZ
rugby man
and I've got zero interest in the Lions tour. It's akin to two
cellar
dweller South African S14 teams playing in the middle of the night
NZ time.
I won't be getting up to watch it live and I won't be bothered
catching the
replays unless I read that it was the unmissable game of the year,
dazzling
skills etc.
Might catch a replay of the tests if the Lions win one of them but
apart
from that I'm just hanging out for the Air NZ Cup to get going. Get
through
these mid-year tours then get back into something relevant.
C'mon the Bay....(first one of the season)

And the NZs claim not to be arrogant and parochial
Of course, when NH people look down on the quality or importance of
the S14 or the Tri Nations, that's *different*.
I don't look down on the S14 or TN - I've always watched the S14 when
I could. I must confess this year it seemed to lack the excitement of
other years, but that could have just been me. As for the TN, the
games are a must-watch for me. Three of the world's best teams
knocking the *** out of each other - even though they play each other
99 times in the tournament it seems, the games are always tense.
I'm just surprised that you guys aren't interested in SA vs the Lions.
Perhaps I am being parochial, but surely that's got to be a better
watch than most of what has been available this year, even to a
neutral?
Well.
I didn't say that no one from the NH was interested in SH rugby, or
vice versa. I simply made the point that IF one feels that way,
apparently its reflection on your character differs depending on what
hemisphere you come from if you live in John Hill's world. As opposed
to just not particularly reflecting on your character at all because
you only have so many hours in the day or you don't have the Rugby
Channel in New Zealand, or whatever.
I'm very interested in the Lions tour, although the fact that I live
in the UK makes it much easier for me to follow than many of my
compatriots.

Of course you could always rewind and refer to the OP "I've got zero
interest in the Lions tour. It's akin to two cellar
dweller South African S14 teams playing" and put it all in that
context. But then you wouldn't be able to whinge eh Brent ? nor would
you continue to keep on proving my point.

I'm surprised that a pom doesn't know what whingeing is. It's not
pointing out the logical fallacy and double standard in your thought
processes.

I'm not whingeing about you John. I'm just saying you're (still!)
rather amusingly prejudiced against New Zealanders for no particularly
discernable reason - except, perhaps for the fact that you resent our
rugby superiority?

Please, not when I have a mouth full of food....

A mouth full of *** more likely

And since that's a pretty objective standard that
you can't rebut

Watch me.

, you go around imputing all sorts of dastardly
behavioural disorders on our nation to feed your Little Englander
sense of superiority. It's actually rather entertaining.

With you there though.
Loved you in Mummy 3 btw.

Cheers

Brent
