I thought all this stuff had been sorted out? This is from an NZ
website, so any comments from oop north?

Hmmm, actually this one is a bit odd.

How can you have performance related bonus pay in a team game, for a start.

In Fred Trueman's autoboagraphy IIRC he descibes a scheme whereby
Yorshire CCC's bowlers were rewarded financially for the number of
wickets taken. Allegedly the situation got such that blowlers when
fielding would then deliberately drop catches so that they had a
chance of taking that wicket later!

Many moons ago, I came across an IT manager that set up a scheme that paid his 'code testers' a small bonus for each bug they found in an attempt to improve software quality to the end users. Worked brilliantly - loads and loads of bugs were discovered & corrected, nice little bonuses were paid out, software was good, except . . . . someone then noticed that the 'testers' were the same people who cut the code! Doh!

Load, aim at feet, fire! Some things never change.....
