That's an insult.
What irks me is that after I used the "daylight 2nd" phrase when referring
to a *coach* (not a player) in one of the "best ever" threads, Higgsie has
labelled it as a common "ignorant (usually Australian) comment".
So you admit to using it?
In fact the only other *serious* (as opposed the the numerous frivolous
ones) use of the phrase was by a kiwi in relation to M Jones. And no one
objected, probably rightly.
Actually, there were a number of variations (I'll demand a recount if
Stackpole doesn't win, Ella and then some distance etc), butyes there
were some other Australians using the term.
But don't let that stop your crusade Higgsie. We're the devil incarnate,
you know it. Tell the world.
Not really, but if anyone has been guilty of voting mostly for their
own players, it's been the Australian contingent here.
I thoughtall up the voting had beenfairly balanced
