In less than a month's time. In SA.

Firstly The Springboks beat England in England last time we played.
And it was a 2nd string SA side. Or was it?
Dramatic element enters.
It actually was not. It was a pretty good SA side. Probably better
than the one that Jake White would have liked to pick if he had his
was.
Example 1: White would prefer the tired old man of SA rugby Os du
Randt on loose head prop. In Engalnd he had CJ vd Linde, young strong
and fast.
That try that Vd Linde scored against the English - never in your life
will Os have scored that.
Example 2: So we were without Percy, if I remember correctly. But we
had Francois Steyn.
So, was the team a 2nd string team? Not in your life.
Secondly - the English picked up nicely after that game. England today
is not England of that day.
Enters another bit of drama: England will come here without their top
players at the moment, it seems. How good will the young ones be? Will
there be a Francois Steyn? A CD vd Linde?
Then the stupidity: Jake White has allready announced he will pick a
top team in order to demoralise the English ahead of the WC.
Fuckit dude... Have you not learned anything?
The game must still be played! The Boks may lose! And that may be
helped along with you picking your "top side" . That means Os and not
CJ!
And what if we lose against the already decrared second rate English
side? And we lose with our already declared top side?
Who will get the jitters?
Can somebody please educate this school teacher about stuff like
this..
I'm happy with the England pick, selecting from the GP league winners
Gloucester and Sale, Quins et al provides a side that in no way can be
called second rate.
I'm pushed to think of any back that I'd like to add to this lot.
Varndell perhaps, Lewsey and Cueto if we need to protect a lead. Noon
and Barkley would've been nice in the centre, but I'm happy with what we
have.
Forwards are a different matter, but even there, the BRFs are ok, as is
the second row. Front row remains to be seen but if they can hold the
scrum they'll be fine. Just needs Ashton to work some magic now.
Pick your best side, retreat to the highest altitude field you have, and
bring Suzy out of retirement, the English are coming.- Hide quoted text -

There's a fairly decent front row in there for about 55 minutes, then
I see them changing all 3.
