No, to put it succinctly: England possessed a good team for a couple of years that was one of the major contenders, and was was fortunate to come away with a world cup and a two year unbeaten streak (Boydian definition).

It's not too unreasonable, surely.

And a statement like this is not only accurate, but prevents you from looking like boastful wankers who need to overvalue your achievements because there are so few of them.

Now I don't like telling you this, but someone has to say it.
