Oh, didn't you know? Ernie is part Maori, and he has a PHd in Psychology
as well. All part of Dean's colourful "character building".

(By the way, the Maori don't come from Hawaii. They're related, but they
all come from Taiwan originally, via Melanesia.)

I always thought the mythical place "hawaiieki" [sp] was just
mispronouncation of Hawaii. I went to a luau over there a few years
ago and was amazed by the similarities in both looks and cultures.

Oh dear. Quick history lesson.
Haiwaiki, is not Hawaii. It is an unknown place where the great migration is
said to have began. And to say "they all come from Taiwan" is just as
ridiculous. Sure, Asia was part of the migration, but it's hardly like some
Maori villlagers were happily living in Taiwan then skipped on over to a new
home in the South Pacific.
