Has a disciplinary hearing where he is backed up by members of the
opposition and others throughout the rugby world. Gets a three week
ban. This is great news for us Scots, though does bring in to question
to reasoning of the IRB panel, especially when they say they believe
the video footage [sic] that it was deliberate. TV replay was
inconclusive at best.
And how does the concept of 'inconsistency' stand up here anyway ? Is
it okay to do this and just say sorry ?
International ref looks like he's made a complete arse of himself...
I don't think so. The ref had *no option* but to go for the red card.
He has certain guidelines given to him without room to move. You say
the panel believe the foot to the head was deliberate. This MANDATES a
red card by the ref - no alternative.
Note that the perp was given about the lightest ban ever for this type
of offence.
Given all that, the sum total of posts on these events on on rsru is
'the square root of *** all'...
This whole event has been discussed plenty here already.
Rugby newsgroup? - my arse...!!
