Surely one of the weirdest game for ages... Can't explain really what
happened on the field. 43 - 21 for France. 6 tries to 4. Scoreboard was 42 -
3 at 50 th minute. Then France collapsed or was it Ireland on sudden rampage
? The Irish touched down 4 times in... 10 min. You read it well... And the
guys in green even could have smatched it in the dying minutes with a bit
more composure...

Really weird. France were ok over the first half. But not with beeing
exceptionnal. Their tries came from direct errors of their opponents.
Ireland comprehensively outscored but weirdly earned loads of possession...

Well, it was one of this (weird) day...

The French are making me look stupid at the moment.

It's a bit unfair blaming the French now Simon...

Pre-tournament I
talked them up, and they've been shockingly poor. France were flattered
in the first half by Ireland gifting them soft tries.

I'm rarely convinced by the soft tries argument. It geberally means that someone was sharp enough to be in the right place at the right time - or the opposition had been wrong footed by a craftier team.

In the second
half they were appalling. I think if you can see the match stats, they
missed something like 28 tackles. If BOD hadn't been injured, I reckon
you'd have lost that one too.

Ah well, yes, with you on this one. Laporte must be wondering about the Kiwi caterer and the half time oranges.

Did you see some of them? Murphy gift wrapped the interception, he even put a bow and taped a gift tag onto the ball, it said "Happy Birthday Cedric, lots of love Geordan x."
