Sheridan is a special case, because he is still new at the position.
Fitter is not.

This is all spitballing, but I strongly suspect the Wallaby scrum was
poorly coached and drilled last year. If I had to guess, a front row
of Young and Fitter, with a decent scrummager at 2, could well be
adequate provided they do a lot of work as a pack on the initial hit,
pushing as an 8 etc. Connolly' reputation as a forwards coach suggests
that's not an unreasonable expectation.

As has been pointed out, the All Blacks have been able to turn things
around in a short space of time merely be focusing on the issue from
both a selection and coaching perspective. It is not too far out from
the RWC for Australia to do the same - again, if Connolly ends up being
the coach, then I suspect a uniform directive to all Australian S14
teams on forward play will not be far behind.

These predictions of doom and gloom for the next 10 years of Australian
forward play aren't realistic. I suspect certain NZ posters of being
in wind up mode. And getting bites.

Cheers
