Maybe not. Genetics play a big part. The Post-war Baby Boomers were the
first generation of humans ever to have more food and rest than they knew
what to do with. As a result they were the healthiest and strongest, and
therefore had even healthier, stronger kids. What we are seeing now is not
just training, it is a modification in human physiology as each new
generation comes out. Humans are getting bigger, faster and stronger with
each generation. I don't think the old boys would stand a chance even if
they had the right preparation.
