Typical Christmas - sitting at home looking out at the rain. Not
having been out on the river because of the fog for days. Down on the

Of course, it didn't stop a few of the scullers from the great safety
award winning club going out, despite the fact that they could barely
see their bowballs.

i wonder how that affects their insurance if they go out during a pea
souper like the one we experienced in the thames valley on sunday,
does it invalidate it at all? anyone know?
even with my super hi-viz painted blades and offensively bright
cycling top (a ron hill special, it is positively radioactive in
colour) i did not risk it, and i certainly would not have done so on
the tideway with all the usual eejits about who ignore the normal
navigations rules as though they do not apply to them.
and now my boat is on a trailer and about to head off to spain so i
can't go out for the next few days, fog or no fog. oh well i will just
have to settle for the traditional christmas pastime of eating
instead, what a shame, mince pie anyone? someone pass the tin of roses
please.

ps actually I have found another excellent way to pass the time over
the festive period; dressing up your cat in a mini santa suit (£4 from
woolworths, bargain) and taking photos, might use to make next year's
personalised xmas cards maybe. the look on his furry face was
priceless.
