Is the large number of cancellations going to affect the Fours Head

We shall see. I understand that the Entries Sec has NO mechanism for
dealing with hard luck stories ..... nor to handle eg subs for college
and Tideway women's crews who have registered as men ..... Tideway
subs who have registered but couldn't be bothered to nominate a
club ..... competitors from various London colleges who definitely
meant to register but OARA unaccountably refused to process online
registration until three days after entries closed ..... the college
club who put three entries in, paid for three, and complained that
their fourth crew hadn't been accepted ..... the school crews whose
entries were definitely paid for by cheque ten days before entries
opened ..... the Sen 1 quad which unaccountably got entered as four
completely different chaps in a Sen 2 coxless ..... the two rather
large Tideway clubs who entered several composites, unfortunately
without conferring, with several ladies each rowing in more than one
crew ..... the Host Club which went to training camp in France,
apparently managed to find a French rowing lake without internet
access, and missed the close of entries ..... the crew which subbed a
cox but neglected to get her registered ..... the university which
persistently neglects to notify sub coxes .....

Yes, it's that time of year again folks. Ad in the next "Regatta" I
believe; new rules on the website I also believe; entries open mid-
September. Clubs which get their bottoms in gear, check crew
availability before entering, and ideally put all club entries in the
hands of a single competent officer, will once again enjoy a huge
unfair advantage.
