We are investing a lot of time and effort into this event and we are
getting very strong signals back from the City authorities that they
will support us. We have the date, the time, the course and the event
structure mapped out, we don't yet have a functioning website.
If you think you can put together a combined trailer we would certainly
like to talk to you about how to make it a worthwhile experience for
you and for us.
As regards Caroline's concerns, who knows what the standard will be?
If we manage to attract all the best Belgian crews we can expect the
standard to be pretty high across the board in quads, and maybe men's
senior and junior coxless. Coxed fours here are regarded as a
curiosity.
Anyway, Caroline, think of it as a return to simpler times. When Mr T
and I first rowed together, Heads had only two categories - shell and
clinker!
