someday maybe someone will explain to me why B-Rob is popular -- in
the Babyface sense -- with viewers and other contestants.  he's a
slimeball.

The longtime Survivor audience really gave B-Rob a huge face rub when he
lost All-Stars -- the only season of his four goddamn appearances where he
was truly dominant -- because Amber really is either the worst, or second
worst (to Samoa Natalie) winner in Survivor history.  Then he and Amber did
a few seasons of Amazing Race and came off fairly well on that, and CBS
editors just decided to turn him face.

In Heroes vs. Villains we saw him getting the straight-up face treatment
because Russell and Parvati were such a dominant "evil" force, and Rob's
game early SEEMS heroic -- he's loyal to his alliance and sticks by them.
Of course, those you have seen All-Stars know that he has no qualms about
turning on his "people" if and when the situation calls for it, but you have
to remember, most of these players have never seen Marquesas or All-Stars,
so Rob is a "swell, hardworking guy" in their world.

I don't like the guy because I think he's an overrated as hell Survivor
player, but the way he played tonight made me think I may have to reevaluate
him.  He's a dominant challenge competitor (both physically and mentally)
and his analysis of the situation tonight was so spot-on it was almost scary
(honestly, given the rumors that Parvati was told all about Russell prior to
Heroes vs. Villains I'd almost wager that Rob was told Kristina had the
idol...it seems improbable for him to have deduced she had it based on the
footage we saw).  If he keeps playing as strategic as he did tonight, I
might just start rooting for him -- after all, I'm not a fan of the
namby-pamby "face" Survivors, I want to see the aggressive playmakers go to
the end.

I won't be happy until Parvati and Amber FOADIAF.
