...that would infuriate just about every Army drill sergeant past,
present,
and future.

I am starting to believe that the morale and well-being of young American
males would be improved exponentially if some sort of military service
were
mandatory, as it more or less was between 1948 and 1973.

Think of it this way - a lot of useless morons like Reetee Stickler or
JeffH would have their asses booted away from their Playstations and out
into the real world, and your usual chickenhawk blowhards like Lard Gow,
Toreo Spears, and Janis Trijcomm would actually have to put their
warmongering money where their warmongering mouths are.

And the worthless idiot cripples like "syvyn11"? Make them learn how to
cook and scrub latrines - American soldiers need to eat and ***.

Chad, if you can keep the flaming between us down for one post, I'm going to
say that I agree with you (and no, I didn't spend time in the military, my
dad was a complete Marine and after growing up under his oppressive Iron
Thumb, military life was the last thing on my mind). Most young men and
women straight out of high school have no idea of what they want to do with
their lives. Way too many don't and won't do anything to better themselves
or make any choices to become productive members of society. After fucking
off in high school and having no knowledge or ways to learn new information,
do these people become the "Redshirts" of the military - the first to be
sent to a hot spot and get killed?

That said, what about the anti-social screw-up who can't be trained to
respect authority? No flame here, just fact: Randy Orton. He was a
complete disciplinary nightmare who went AWOL, hid at his parents home until
his dad took him back to his unit. He earned a dishonorable discharge and
spent 54 (I may be off a day or two) days in the stockade. I personally
can't stand the guy but he does have a great body, was trained by his dad (a
grossly underappreciated wrestler of his time) and seems to be improving in
the ring - his promos are still weak. He's also still a displinary
nightmare - when I hear about more "Orton News", I just have to wonder how
long Vince and company will put up with his antics.

If there is mandatory military service for all American Citizens from age 18
to 20 or 22, what do we do about the fuckups who can't/won't learn to obey
authority? Ban them from certain areas that they can get jobs (like
anything requiring any sort of security clearance)? Take away their
American citizenship and give them an one-way bus ride to Mexico or Canada?
I don't think that prison is the answer because the prisons we have now are
filled to capacity and these people don't deserve the priviledges that
prison gives (heathcare, dental care, 3 meals a day, TV and they don't have
to do a thing for those perks (except for that quaint prsion past time,
"Prison sex").

Wow, fucking no.

Just a few questions to a very real problem if a mandatory draft were to be
enacted.

So if you can put your "Dance Puppets Dance" retort away for a post or two,
I'd like to hear your proposals for the problems I mentioned.
